Zone 3 Flowers: Penstemon (Bearded Tongue) ‘Sweet Grapes’ Variety



 Description: A North American native, this hardy perennial is very drought tolerant. Prolific flowering in spring or summer in brilliant blues, lavenders, pinks or red.  Prolific lavender blooms on five inch stems appear through midsummer.

Height: 6''-12” high

Sun Needs: Full sun

Water Needs: Medium, drought tolerant

Outstanding Features: Penstemon attracts butterflies and hummingbirds

Uses: Boarder gardening, butterfly and humming bird gardens, rock gardens

Tips: If spent flowers are removed it will re-bloom
