Zone 3 Flowers: Day Lily


Description: Daylilies are rugged, adaptable, vigorous perennials that endure in a garden for many years with little or no care. Daylilies adapt to a wide range of soil and light conditions. They establish quickly, grow vigorously, and survive winters with little or no injury.

Hardy: Zone 3

Bloom Time: Depends heavily on variety (many bloom early in the season and re-bloom in fall)

Height: 2 feet

Spacing: 18'' -24''

Sun Needs: Full sun to part shade

Water Needs: Low- Medium (no less then 1'' per week)


Outstanding Features: Low-maintenance perennial that makes it a easy and durable plant to use in the garden. Attracts butterflies.

Uses: In masses, along a border, on steep banks or in containers. Use in a sunny, mixed perennial border or rock garden (dwarf varieties are best). Good as cut flowers as well.

Tips: Propagated through division or seed.
